Short Film Review: Girls Night (2018)

by

Girls Night is an award-winning French short horror film written and directed by David Teixeira, and stars Liliana Garcia, Alice Nazare, and Marina de Sousa. It is about three girls who are having a party for Halloween, and are alone in an apartment that their friend let them use to have the party. They decide to play a game of Bloody Mary. This is a pretty well-done little short film. It runs just over 13:50 and while it starts off light-heartedly enough, things get serious when the girls decide to play the game.

Overall, we really liked this film. It has some good atmosphere and a nice change of tone when things start to get serious. The score and sound effects were done well, and there was a really good buildup of tension at the end. The acting was pretty good as well considering this the first film for all three of the girls.

Definitely give Girls Night a watch. We really enjoyed it, and it is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3NcKsJQjgM. Also keep out for the recently announced, upcoming sequel: Girls Night 2, which we are really excited for, and should be coming soon!
