Horror Comic Feature: Halloween Girl (Complete Series)

Halloween Girl is a comic book series from Mad Shelley Comics. We had previously reviewed the first two chapters of this and were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to read through the rest of the chapters recently. Much like the first two, the rest did not disappoint.
Written by Richard T. Wilson, the story is about a ghost named Charlotte, her friend Poe, and the struggle through The Hollow, and their own demons, as they are in a battle with both to save Charlotte’s son. There are seven chapters in total, and each one is drawn by a different artist, which is nice, as you get to see a different vision and perspective of the story. The artwork is fantastic. The complete graphic novel is in black and white, which gives it that noir feel and a bit of a bleak atmosphere.
We really enjoyed reading the rest of the story. The characters are interesting and relatable, and Charlotte’s fight is one that we have all been through in our own way, and death is definitely a lot of damned work. It’s a powerful story that is horror fiction on the outside, but much more non-fiction at heart. We recommend that all horror fans who are into angsty teen supernatural adventures, and graphic novels, check this out.
